The actor and director celebrated his 80th birthday with a very lovely cake.
A few days ago, Robert De Niro gathered with his family at the Greenwich Hotel in New York, specifically at Locanda Verde – a restaurant of which he is a co-owner – to celebrate his 80th birthday. While he could certainly rejoice in being surrounded by loved ones, he also got to enjoy a remarkable birthday cake filled with references.
The cake featured the facade of the famous hotel, but most notably, the Tribeca screening room, with its white seats arranged in front of a faux giant screen projecting an (edible) photo of himself. Among those fortunate enough to taste this cake, in addition to his close family, were notable figures such as Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Uma Thurman, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Lorne Michaels, and Paul McCartney, as reported by ET.
