YES, there are Candy Crush championships!
Good to know, there is indeed a competitive Candy Crush scene. It was Twitter user @RhodenXane, a player in the Super Smash Bros. 4 esports scene, who shared the amusing story of his mother who “accidentally entered an official Candy Crush tournament,” with a total prize pool of $250,000.
The media outlet Kotaku interviewed this 48-year-old woman named Erryn, who explained that she’s “used to playing a lot of video games,” partly because she has attention deficit disorder and “needs to have ten things going on at once.” So, after resigning from her job, she started playing Candy Crush, which seems to have paid off, as she is now one of the top players in the United States.
So my mom plays candy crush all the time for years now. APPARENTLY she accidentally entered a official candy crush tourney and had no idea what it was. She’s in the semi-finals and seeded #1 in her region witch I believe is just number 1 in USA. This is a 250k prize pool tourney
